For those who don't know, a devilfish is a poisonous fish if not prepared properly. Likewise, opponents might find themselves out of the table if they don't watch out. His original nick name, though, was Dave the Clock after bringing a grandfather clock as his buy-in to a local game. It changed in 2001 when a Chinese player lost to him and called him “devil fish”, the name stuck since then.
Ulliott is one of the few non-Americans to win a WSOP event. While he can be a killer during tournaments, he also makes a living as a jeweler in the UK. Apart from his dark glasses, he is recognizable with the two large rings he wears on each hand – one reads DEVIL and the other FISH.
