John "Johnny World" Hennigan

John Hennigan is fresh off his win at the 2007 World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Open main event held at the Borgata Casino & Spa. This wins elevated him in the rank of Daniel Negreanu as the only player to win a World Poker Tour title, a World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelet (Hennigan has won two), and the US Poker Championship.

John "Johnny World" HenniganHennigan grew up in Philadelphia and Atlantic City. He started playing pool at a young age and eventually moved to the professional ranks. Endearly called “Johnny World" by his peers, he who got his start playing poker with friends in the neighborhood and soon began playing professionally in Atlantic City.

In 1999 Hennigan finished 19th place at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 no limit hold'em main event. Then in April 2002 he made the WSOP final table of the $1,500 seven-card stud event but he won his first bracelet four days later in the $2,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, taking home the $117,320 first prize after defeating a final table including Men Nguyen and Phil Ivey.

The next month he cashed in the inaugural World Poker Tour (WPT) event after finishing 4th in the World Poker Finals event, which was won by Gus Hansen.

Hennigan finished 2002 by winning The United States Poker Championship's $7,500 no limit hold'em main event, defeating Erik Seidel in the final heads-up confrontation on the way to a $216,000 prize. He also finished in the money in the same event in 2003, finishing 5th.

He captured his second WSOP bracelet in 2004 in the $5,000 limit hold'em event. He made another two WSOP final tables in 2005, including a second place finish in the $5,000 2 to 7 draw lowball event, finishing just behind David Grey.

The 2007 Borgata Winter Open title adds to the list of John Hennigan's poker achievements. Johnny World definitely is a poker force to watch in the poker world.
