In the world poker stage, Barry Greenstein is nicknamed the "Robin Hood of Poker" because he donates ALL his tournament winnings to charity. Over the years, he has provided more than $4 million in support of his favorite causes, mostly children's charities, such as Children, Incorporated – who provide food, clothing, school supplies, medical needs and other necessities for thousands of children in 21 countries.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1955, Barry Greenstein has been playing cards since the age of 12, starting with gin rummy and hearts, and eventually poker. Barry Greenstein's father was an army man who enjoyed playing the game with his buddies. The same joy was transmitted to young Barry who soon began earning $35 to $50 playing poker in home games. The family would play poker almost every day after Barry returned from school.

Barry Greenstein won enough to pay for college by playing cards, and completed his B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Illinois. He also spent a decade to complete a doctoral degree in Mathematics from the same University.

Barry was first noticed in the poker scene when he came 22nd at the WSOP $10,000 No Limit Hold'em World Championship in 1992. In 1996, Barry placed 5th position in the WSOP $1,500 Ace to Five Draw game. The next year, he picked up $36,500 and a 4th place finish in the WSOP $5,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw and a 10th place finish in the WSOP $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event.

Greenstein's winning streak has continued since. A big win for Barry Greenstein came in March 2003 he won the Larry Flynt's Poker Challenge Cup at Gardena. Greenstein won first place at the $125,000 Million Dollar Seven Card Stud tournament and took a $1M prize. In January 2004, Barry Greenstein cashed in over $1.2 after winning the WPT $10,000 Main Event at Tunica, playing the No Limit Hold'em event.

Apart from tournament poker, Greenstein regularly plays the highest cash-game limits, and has been featured on GSN's High Stakes Poker. Greenstein represents Poker Stars as a member of its team. Barry Greenstein also has written a book, Ace on the River, and he gives anyone who knocks him out of a tournament a signed copy.

Barry Greenstein's lifetime winnings from poker are nearly $6 million dollars.
