Poker Blogger of the Month
The Card Speak
The Card Speak poker blog came about to satisfy the author's two passions: writing and poker.
Henry Wasserman, the man behind Card Speak says: "The real reason for starting this thing was to see if I had the discipline to write every day. I've read a lot of books that have changed my life, and I've always wanted to write something that would change someone else's life."
But why a poker blog? "Joseph Campbell said that if you "follow your bliss," you'll end up in a good place. For now, poker is bliss for me," says Henry.
Card Speak is an attempt to Henry's trials and tribulations through the world of online poker and the poker rooms of Los Angeles. So yes, like a typical poker blog, the author shares his adventures at the felt table, strategies he embraced, and some useful tips in winning the game.
But much more than simple game tips, Henry gives a different insight about being a poker player and improving your play through his own theories and thorough research:
"The perpetual struggle in poker is the attempt to answer the question, "Am I a good player?" Since all we have is chips to keep score, the answer to this question is often clouded by the always doubt-provoking variance."
"Why do people play poker? Although PartyPoker may be the most profitable place to play, it may not be the best. If our goal is not to win the most money, but to challenge ourselves intellectually, then most likely the site with the most fish is not the best place to play."
Card Speak is a smart blog with witty writing and interesting reads. There's so much to learn about poker and more.
