Can Ylon Schwartz win the 2008 WSOP?
It’s another story about the final table of the 2008 WSOP.
Since the 2008 World Series of Poker main event final table is still two months away, we’ll try to prolong this as long as possible. Hopefully, it’ll give us some sort of a break from all these football games that’s making your head spin like a Vinateri kick.
For this one, we have Ylon Schwartz. Schwartz has been in the world of gambling for about 20 years. He will be part of the ‘’November Nine’’ who will try to get the elusive WSOP bracelet and be named the best poker player in the world today.
One of the oldest players in the ‘’November Nine‘’ group, Ylon Schwartz started his gambling career at the age of 13. He was a professional chess player until realizing that he had to expand his gambling empire to make more money. He turned his attention to pool, darts, horse betting and eventually backgammon.
A Brooklyn native, Ylon Schwartz was introduced to poker and started making regular trips to Atlantic City. His experience in poker gave him a total of $250,000 in live tournament winnings and has 11 and 11 previous WSOP cash.
Schwartz has clearly made the right decision to move to poker. His previous highest World Series finish was 17th in the 2006 $2,500 NLH for $28,187, not to mention cashing in on this year’s $2,000 Limit Hold ‘Em in Event 20, coming 15th for $10,046.
Ylon Schwartz is also a prolific online MTT’er playing on PokerStars as ‘TenthPlanet’.
Dating as far back as April 2007, he won the Sunday Second Chance for $50,654 and has won the $100 re-buys twice (November ‘07 and April ‘08) for a combined score of over $35,000.
Despite admitting to being spooked by playing on a TV table, he still has a few chips with 12.5 million and given the fact that he has over 25 years of gambling experience, you shouldn’t rule him out yet.
Ylon Schwartz is a 9/1 favorite to win the 2008 World Series of Poker.
