PokerStars European Poker Tour London Main Event Underway

Katja Thater PokerStars European Poker Tour London Main Event A total field of 392 players made the ÂÂÂ£5,200 buy-in for the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Main Event held at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London. The total prize pool reached a whopping Â£2,028,400 with the PokerStars EPT Main Event champion earning Â£611,520. 32 of the top tournament placers would also get a share of the prize pool.

Among the many big poker names who were vying for a shot at the PokerStars EPT Main Event championship were the likes of Full Tilt Poker pros Steve Zolotow, Max Pescatori and Roland de Wolfe; PokerStars pro and 2004Â Player of the Year Daniel Negreanu; Finnish poker pros Patrick Antonius and Juha Helppi; 2006 PokerStars EPT Baden champion Duc Thang Nguyen; 2-time LA Poker Classic champion Liz Lieu; Hendon Mob member and WSOP bracelet holder Ram Vaswani; 2003 WSOP Main Event Champion and PokerStars pro Chris Moneymaker; PokerStars pro and WSOP bracelet holder Katja “Miss Slick” Thater; plus home-favorite UK poker pros Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliot and Barny Boatman.

The first day of the tournament will be divided into a Day1a and a Day1b, with the survivors of those 2 days joining together in Day 2 of the tournament. The PokerStars EPT Main Event is scheduled to last for 4 days with the 4th day being the final table match. Around 215 players took to the field on Day 1b while around 177 players joined in Day 1a.
