‘Novice’ Wins Big At The Bodog Sunday $100 K Guaranteed Tournament
This guy calls himself “Novice.” Actually, I’m not sure if “Novice” is a guy or maybe some girl. That’s just his handle in the on-line poker rooms of Bodog Poker. For the sake of no arguments, let’s call him a he. Anyway, “Novice” sounds like he might be a fish, but if they thought he was a rookie — i’m pretty damn sure that “Novice” is getting the last laugh, especially after he just cashed-in $25,000 for a first place finish in the Bodog Sunday $100,00 Guaranteed Prize Pool for a No Limit Hold’em freezeout tournament.
1,500+ participants joined the tournament, which regularly kicks off on Sundays 4PM ET. The final table wasn’t completed until at about 8pm. At that time, “Novice” was just on average stack compared to the huge stack “chiefthirsty.” But final table play was fast and furious, and pretty aggressive. In just about 30 minutes, it was head to head between “Novice” and “pugmeister”.
“Novice” and “pugmeister” battled for nearly 40 minutes in heads-up play before “Novice” finally took down the first place finish and the top prize of $25,000. Not too shabby.Â
“Novice” is a consistent player, and has been making good progress at the top of the Bodog tournament leaderboards. The irony that a “Novice” sits at the top. I think it’s cool anyway.
The final table finishes and payouts for that tournmanet include “pugmeister” walking away with $14,000 and 2nd place; “chiefthirsty” grabbed $9,000; “tweeter” got $6,500; “Manube” got $5,400; “Poker366″ took home $3,400, “011jp” bagged $2,400; and Speedbird made $1,550.
