Full Tilt Poker Pro Chris Ferguson Wins WSOP-C Main Event at Lake Tahoe

Chris Ferguson Wins 3rd WSOP-C ChampionshipHarvey’s Lake Tahoe Casino was the venue for the recent leg of the World Series of Poker Circuit. The WSOP is having a Circuit, and they’re touring different casinos all over the United States. Just recently, the WSOP-C came to Harvey’s Lake Tahoe in California to have a three-day series of No Limit Texas Hold’Em.

142 poker players showed up for the WSOP-C Main Event on the third day, but eventually it was Full Tilt Poker pro Chris Ferguson who won the the WSOP-C Main Event Championship at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, beating out local favorite Dustin Fox heads-up in the final table. Chris Ferguson’s WSOP-C Main Event win makes him the first player ever to win three Circuit Championships, and further gives testimony to his status as one of poker’s greatest tournament players.

Chris Ferguson came into the final table with the chip lead, but it was Dustin Fox who was most active in the early rounds and  became the chip leader as the tournament went on and other players got eliminated. Full Tilt Poker pro Chris Ferguson eventually got a groove going, and won in a dramatic final hand to be able to capture the WSOP-C ring and the first place prize money of $203,649.

Other poker players in the final table of the WSOP-C Main Event at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe included Michael Banducci,  Frank Lee, Gabriel Testa, Sylvester Geoghegan, Mark Bonsack, George Saca, Travis Erdman and Dustin Fox.

Travis Erdman was the first to bust out from the final table, and earned $14,239 for his ninth place finish. Frank Lee went out on 8th place and picked up $19,663. George Saca went out on 7th place and earned $26,443 for his achievement. Michael Banducci busted out on 6th place and earned $33,223. Sylvester Geoghegan busted out 4th and earned $56,955. The third placer was Mark Bonsack, who picked up $82,042.

Heads-up play lasted just one hand. Dustin Fox raised pre-flop to start the action, and Ferguson re-raised. Fox called, and the flop came (2-Spades)(7-Clubs)(10-Spades), Ferguson checked to Fox who bet out, and Ferguson called. The turn brought the (K-Diamonds), and Fox moved all in with pocket aces after Ferguson checked, and Ferguson quickly called with pocket tens for a flopped set. The (J-Clubs) on the river was not one of Fox’s two outs, and he was eliminated in second place for $119,333.
