2007 WSOP Starts Airing at ESPN

ESPN will start broadcasting its coverage of the 2007 World Series of Poker’s main event tournament currently running at the Rio Casino Hotel in Las Vegas starting July 10, Tuesday.

The first televised event, the $5,000 World Championship Mixed Hold’em event will be aired at 5 p.m PT/ 8 p.m. ET. The hour-long episode with be followed by a $1,500 no-limit hold’em event.

WSOP broadcast will continue with two more events back to back July 17, at the same time. ESPN takes a week off, but continues broadcasting the WSOP July 31, and continues broadcasting the events every Tuesday until mid-October.

The broadcasts kicks off early this year unlike in the 2006 WSOP when poker fans had to wait until the summer the WSOP events.
