World Poker Tour Signs China Deal

wpt-logo-chips.jpgThe World Poker Tour (WPT) has signed an agreement with the China Leisure Sports Administrative Center to promote “the sport of poker, by helping to create, expand and commercialize China’s first ever national poker competition,” according to reports.

In a press statement, the WPT said that “the partnership will promote the sport of poker, by helping to create, expand and commercialize China’s first ever national poker competition.” Details of the planned poker tournaments has not been revealed but WPT says the partnership agreement will run for at least five years.

PokerStars Given Charity Accreditation in the UK

GamCare, a British organization promoting responsible gaming, has granted accreditation to online poker site PokerStars.

The group cited that PokerStars had ‘achieved high standards in player protection and social responsibility and recognises the need to assist their customers to play responsibly’.
