Ladbrokes May Buy Pacific Poker

Pacific PokerUK bookmaker Ladbrokes exceutives flew to Israel for preliminary talks with 888 Holdings, owner and operator of Pacific Poker, over a potential £470 million takeover.

Chief executive Chris Bell is reported to have met with his 888 counterpart, John Anderson, who is also formerly a Ladbrokes executive director, as well as brothers Aharon and Avi Shaked, who own 51 per cent of the online gaming business, to discuss a cash and shares offer according to the Mail on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Ladbrokes confirmed that it was looking at the online gaming firm, but said: “No decision has been made about whether a proposal will be made.” 888 Holdings confirmed that it was in talks with a number of third parties.

888 Holdings also owns online casino site 888 Casino-on-Net.
